History
``I'm feeling a north wind; if it hits me,
I'll open the whole cloth and sail into good waters!``
Francisco Ramada
The history of Barca dates back to 1921, when Francisco Ramada dared to build a large boat inspired by those that traveled the Thames River. Barca would thus become the Ramada family's vacation home. For 26 years it sailed in Ria de Aveiro, delighting those who could enjoy it. It was 1947 when Barca, already tired to navigate offshore, was put ashore and transformed into a kind of sand dwelling. Impressive in its dimension and majestic in its characteristics, it has been passed through several generations that have ensured its preservation as a jewel of the Ramada family. In 2021 it turned 100 years old. It continues to welcome on board family and friends, and to offer one of the most spectacular panoramic views over Ria de Aveiro. 1921
